Third place went to Carlo Messina (88.92), CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo, which was named "Best Investment Bank" according to Global Finance for the sixth consecutive year. Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi (86.76) came fourth, with fourth-quarter profits jumping to €1.2 billion (+35%) while the war in the Middle East brought oil to the forefront of a global crisis. Flavio Cattaneo (79.81) climbed four spots to fifth, claiming at Capital Market Day that he had achieved his promised results, with a market capitalization growth of 50% and a new €53 billion investment plan. In sixth place is Matteo Del Fante (79.13), who is attempting to take over TIM and led Poste to record profits with €13.1 billion in revenue. Seventh is A2A CEO Renato Mazzoncini (79.08), eighth is FS's Stefano Donnarumma (76.88), and ninth is Edizione Chairman Alessandro Benetton (76.82).
