Top Manager Reputation: Energy takes center stage as Descalzi claims the top spot.

In September, energy returned to the forefront. Claudio Descalzi (90.96) claimed the top spot in the Top Manager Reputation ranking, climbing three places thanks to an initiative to curb fuel prices—which placed him at the heart of public debate regarding the role of major energy companies and triggered a domino effect among competitors—as well as Eni’s international commitments. Pier Silvio Berlusconi (90.40) rose one spot to second place, buoyed by MFE’s half-year profits. Andrea Orcel (90.29) took third place amidst the "Danish compromise" and dialogue with the German government regarding Commerzbank. Carlo Messina (88.62) ranked fourth, central to Intesa Sanpaolo’s public exchange offer for MPS. Renato Mazzoncini (83.85) climbed one spot to fifth, driven by A2A’s investments and the Teti project in Valtellina; he was followed by Flavio Cattaneo (83.67), with Enel’s international projects; Matteo Del Fante (82.95), who led Poste to acquire an 85% stake in TIM; and Urbano Cairo (79.96). Pietro Labriola (76.23) advanced to ninth place. Alessandro Benetton (76.22) rounded out the top 10, balancing the launch of 21 Next with Edizione’s new governance structure. read more
