Graduated in Economics and Commerce from the University La Sapienza in Rome, Bernardo Mattarella has been the CEO of Invitalia since July 2022. From 2017 to 2022, he was the CEO of Mediocredito Centrale (part of the Invitalia group) and, prior to that, from 2011 to 2017, he led the Incentives and Innovation Business Unit of the same group. From 2007 to 2011, he also held the role of Chief Financial Officer.
Invitalia is an Italian government agency established as a joint-stock company and wholly owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Among its tasks, it promotes the economic growth of the country and focuses on strategic sectors for development and employment.
