Snam

Snam S.p.A. (acronym for Società NAzionale Metanodotti, that is National Methane Pipeline Company) is an energy infrastructure company headquartered in San Donato Milanese (MI) active in the transportation, storage, and regasification of methane.

It was established on October 30, 1941, under the name "National Methane Pipeline Company". In 2009, Snam Rete Gas acquired 100% of Italgas S.p.A. from ENI (which later opted for a partial spin-off) and of Stoccaggi Gas Italia S.p.A.

Snam operates in Italy and through subsidiaries in Albania, Austria, France, Greece, and the United Kingdom. It is among the shareholders of TAP (Trans Adriatic Pipeline) and ADNOC Gas Pipelines, a company that holds the management rights of 38 gas pipelines in the United Arab Emirates.

The company is listed on the FTSE MIB index of the Milan Stock Exchange.
