Huawei

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, commonly known as Huawei, is a Chinese company engaged in the development, production, and marketing of products, systems, and solutions for networking and telecommunications, smartphones, and general consumer electronics. It was founded in 1987 by Ren Zhengfei.

In the second quarter of 2018, it surpassed Apple in smartphone production and is now the second-largest manufacturer in the world after Samsung.

Huawei operates in the market with over 180,000 employees across three divisions: Carrier, Enterprise, and Consumer. The company is particularly active in research and development: it invests over 10% of its annual revenue for this purpose, employs about 45% of its workforce in research, and has more than 90 dedicated centers around the world. The company's total investment in research over the last 10 years amounts to approximately $48 billion.

Huawei has been active in Italy since 2004 and currently has around 750 professionals in the national territory through its two offices in Milan and Rome, offices distributed in another ten cities, four Research and Development centers, and a Business Innovation Center.
