Ugo Salerno, born in Naples in 1953, graduated with honors in naval and mechanical engineering. After experiences at Italcantieri and Fermar, he joined Bulkitalia (Coeclerici Group) in 1988, becoming CEO of Coeclerici Shipping and Logistics in 1996. From 2002 to 2023, he was CEO of RINA SpA, becoming Chairman in 2012 and Executive Chairman in 2023. He was Chairman of IACS (2003-2004), director of ITIC P&I Club (2008-2019), and a member of IFIA (since 2013). In 2013, he was named Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labor), and since 2019, he has led the Ligurian group of Cavalieri del Lavoro. He holds various positions in Confindustria (Italian Industrialists' Association) and academic institutions, as well as roles at UniCredit and the AIRC Foundation.
