Biography

Sabrina De Filippis is the CEO and General Manager of Mercitalia Logistics, as well as the Head of the Logistics Division of the FS Group. She also holds the positions of Vice President of the Fermerci association and Board Member of Mercitalia Shunting & Terminal. With an economic background, she has dedicated over 25 years to the mobility and transport sector.

Graduating with honors from the University of Rome La Sapienza, she completed her education by obtaining a Specialization Diploma in "Transport Policy and Economics," and then further strengthened her skills by earning a Master's degree in "Design and Management of Local Mobility Systems."

Following her professional debut in 1993 at the Ministry of the Treasury - General Accounting Office as a Financial Economic Assistant, she then held the role of Administrative Accounting Assistant at the Ministry of Justice.

In 1998, Sabrina De Filippis began her journey in the railway sector, joining Trenitalia S.p.A. as the Head of Commercial Staff for the Lazio Regional Directorate, later taking on the role of Sales Manager for the Lazio Regional Directorate and subsequently the Commercial Manager of the Lazio Regional Passenger Division.

During this time, she was also appointed Benchmarking Manager in a collaborative project with RENFE, the leading transport company in Spain. Starting in 2009, she successfully led the Puglia Regional Directorate of the Regional Passenger Division, before becoming in 2010 the Head of Staff for the Marketing Directorate of the National/International and High-Speed Passenger Division of Trenitalia. At the same time, she was called to represent the Ferrovie dello Stato Group in Confindustria Bari and also served as the Chair of the Investigation Committee for operational inconveniences.

In 2012, she was appointed Head of Trade and Corporate Central Italy and later took on the role of Head of the Commercial Organizational Structure and Universal Service Contract of the Long Haul Passenger Division of Trenitalia. Subsequently, she held the position of Head of the Regulatory Organizational Structure, Conciliations, and Universal Service Contract of the same division.

In 2018, Sabrina De Filippis joined the Board of Directors of Italferr and actively collaborated with the Technical Group for Tourism and Creative Industry of Unindustria Lazio, in addition to serving as a Board Member in Confindustria Napoli. Between 2017 and 2019, she was also a Board Member of Thellò, later becoming the Chair until 2021. Before her appointment as CEO and GM of Mercitalia Logistics in May 2023, she served as General Manager at Trenitalia S.p.A., where, from October 2019 to April 2023, she also led the Regional Business Directorate.

Thanks to her extensive experience in the transport sector, Sabrina De Filippis shares her know-how as a speaker in training meetings at the University of Rome Tre and the University La Sapienza of Rome.
