Born in Rome in 1958, after obtaining a degree in Economics and Commerce from Sapienza, he began his professional journey in the family group. Since 2014, Pietro Salini has been the CEO of Salini Impregilo, which became Webuild in May 2020.
Webuild (until 2020 Salini Impregilo S.p.A.) is an Italian multinational group operating in the construction and engineering sector. It is active in over 50 countries in the realization of large civil and industrial engineering works such as dams, hydroelectric plants, railways, subways, airports, and highways.
The group was founded in 2014 from the merger of the two companies Salini and Impregilo, and is now ranked first among Italian companies operating abroad in the construction sector. In January 2016, the Group acquired the US company Lane Industries.
Webuild is listed on the FTSE Italia Mid Cap index of the Milan Stock Exchange and is partially owned by the Italian State through CDP Equity.
