Iren

Iren is an Italian joint-stock company operating in multi-utilities, particularly in the production and distribution of electricity, in district heating services (of which it is the largest Italian operator), and in the management of integrated water, environmental, and technological services.

The company was formed in July 2010 from the merger between IRIDE (which in turn had brought together AEM Torino and AMGA Genova in 2006) and ENÌA, company founded in 2005 as a result of the union of AGAC Reggio Emilia, AMPS Parma, and Tesa Piacenza. In 2021, the company presented its first industrial plan with a 10-year vision, planning 13-billion-euro investments in its areas of operation, divided into the fields of sustainability and service quality.

Iren is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange in the FTSE Italia Mid Cap index and ranks among the 25 largest Italian companies by revenue, serving a customer base of about 2 million in the energy sector, 2.8 million inhabitants in the integrated water cycle, and over 3.1 million inhabitants in the environmental cycle.
