Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, known as Gruppo Mondadori, is an Italian holding company based in Segrate. Mondadori is one of the most important Italian companies in the publishing sector and has significantly contributed to the cultural development of the country. Since 1991, it has been controlled by the Fininvest Group.
The publishing group was founded in 1907 in Ostiglia (MN) on the idea of Arnoldo Mondadori.
With its publishing brands, today the group publishes books and newspapers (both print and digital) in Italy and around the world, has an extensive chain of stores, including through franchising, operates an advertising agency in joint venture with Publitalia '80, and holds 20% of Monradio, the company that produces Radio 101.
Mondadori publishes over 2,400 new titles each year, including fiction, non-fiction, manuals, comics, children's and young adult books, magazines, and periodicals. It has about 600 stores throughout Italy and the company is also active in the multimedia products sector.
The company has been listed on the Milan Stock Exchange since 1982, in the FTSE Italia Small Cap and FTSE Italia STAR indices.
