Born in Rome in 1966, Giampaolo Rossi graduated with honors in Literature from the "La Sapienza" University of Rome. With a background in historical and humanistic studies, he has gained multiple professional experiences in the media industry. From 2004 to 2012, he served as President of RAINET; subsequently, he engaged in strategic consulting in communication and innovation for various companies. A columnist for several national newspapers, he has been a board member of the Istituzione Biblioteche di Roma multiple times.
Between 2018 and 2021, he was a member of the Board of Directors of RAI-Radiotelevisione italiana S.p.A. During this period, he became a member of the Presidency Council of Confindustria Radiotelevisioni and, in 2019, a board member of RAI Pubblicità S.p.A. Between 2021 and 2023, he served as an Advisor at the "Fondazione Ania" in the field of Public Affairs and Institutional Relations. An author of several publications in the field of communication, he is also involved in training related to the media industry.
In May 2023, he was appointed General Corporate Director of RAI and from June of the same year, he became interim head of the Sports Rights Department. Since October 2023, he has been a member of the Presidency Council, the General Council, and Vice President of Confindustria Radio Televisioni. Finally, in October 2024, appointed by the Council of Ministers at the proposal of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giampaolo Rossi assumed the role of CEO of Rai - Radiotelevisione Italiana S.p.A.
