Born in the province of Padua in 1955, Renzo Rosso created his first pair of jeans at the age of 15. In 1978, he founded the Diesel brand and turned it into an icon of alternative lifestyle worldwide. Today, he is the president of OTB, the group that includes the brands Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni, Viktor&Rolf, Amiri, and the companies Staff International and Brave Kid. In 2019, OTB's revenue exceeded 1.5 billion euros. In 2008, he created the OTB Foundation, the group's non-profit organization, with the mission of combating social inequalities and contributing to the sustainable development of less fortunate people and areas around the world. To date, the foundation has invested in over 200 social projects that have touched the lives of more than 250,000 people.
Renzo Rosso is a minority investor in sectors different from his core business, united by a strong drive for innovation. The current investment portfolio of Red Circle Investments, his investment company, spans from the digital world to eyewear, and includes ICONIQ Capital, the private investment firm that works with some of the most influential families and organizations in the world. Recently, Red Circle Investments entered the equity capital of Masi Agricola, one of the most well-known and awarded Italian producers of fine wines in the world, as well as a new series of targeted investments focused on the environment and health.
At the Diesel Farm in Marostica (VI), he produces high-quality wine and olive oil. For several years, he has taken ownership and management of the historic Serie C team L.R. Vicenza Virtus.
OTB is the fashion group founded by entrepreneur Renzo Rosso that controls some of the most prestigious brands in Italian and international fashion. Based in Veneto, OTB owns leading companies in the luxury segment such as Maison Margiela, Marni, Viktor&Rolf, and Jil Sander, as well as Diesel, the contemporary casual brand created by Rosso himself.
Through its production branch Staff International, OTB creates and distributes collections from emerging designers and established brands such as Dsquared2 and Just Cavalli. With a global presence and numerous mono-brand boutiques, the group is a reference point in the fashion world.
