Born in Rome in 1962, Carlo Messina graduated from Luiss University in Economics and Commerce. In 1987, he began his professional career at the National Bank of Labor as Head of the Corporate Finance Office. In 1996 he joined Banco Ambrosiano Veneto and since 2013 he has been the General Manager and CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo. Alongside his professional activity, Carlo Messina has also taught as a lecturer in Financial Intermediaries Economics at Luiss and Corporate Finance at the University of Ancona. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Bocconi University. He was appointed "Cavaliere del Lavoro" by the President of the Republic.
