Born in Treviso in 1964, Alessandro Benetton graduated from Boston University and obtained an MBA from Harvard Business School. He began his career at Goldman Sachs International in London. He was the president of Benetton Formula from 1988 to 1998, during which he won 3 world titles. In 1992, Alessandro Benetton founded 21 Investimenti (now 21 Invest), becoming one of the pioneers of Private Equity in Italy. Currently, Alessandro Benetton is a member of the board of Confindustria and the Advisory Committee of Robert Bosch Internationale Beteiligungen AG. Since 2017, he has been the President of Fondazione Cortina 2021, the organizing body of the World Ski Championships. In 2022, the Board of Directors of Edizione S.p.A. unanimously appointed him as President. In 2023, he was appointed Vice President of Mundys and Honorary President of the combined entity formed following the integration agreement between Autogrill and Dufry. With the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labor), among the numerous awards received, he boasts the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2011 and the America Award from the Italia USA Foundation (2016). Benetton is a sports enthusiast, particularly in alpine skiing and kite surfing, and a passionate collector of contemporary art.
