Luca de Meo has over 30 years of international managerial experience, gained across 12 countries worldwide. Born in Milan in 1967, he graduated in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan, where he was named Alumnus of the Year. After beginning his career at Renault and Toyota Europe, he held senior leadership roles within the Fiat Group, where he served as Head of the main brands and Group Chief Marketing Officer. In 2009, he joined the Volkswagen Group, holding executive marketing positions and serving on the Board of Directors of AUDI AG. Between 2015 and 2020, he led SEAT and CUPRA as President, while also holding supervisory roles for brands such as Ducati and Lamborghini. After leading the Renault Group as CEO from 2020 to 2025 and serving as President of ACEA for two consecutive terms, he took over as CEO of Kering on 15 September 2025. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of TIM.

Since 15 September 2025, Luca de Meo has served as Chief Executive Officer of Kering, the French luxury goods group that owns brands including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga, and as a member of its Board of Directors. His appointment, approved by the General Meeting of Shareholders on 9 September 2025, marked the first separation of the roles of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer within the Group, with François-Henri Pinault retaining the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

During the first months of his tenure, Kering implemented a number of strategic transactions, including the disposal of its beauty business to L’Oréal, the renegotiation of the terms of its agreement relating to Valentino, and selected real estate disposals, with the objective of strengthening the Group’s financial position and reducing its level of indebtedness.

In April 2026, he presented ReconKering, the first strategic plan developed under his leadership, aimed at restoring growth and improving the Group’s profitability.
