The Rai - Italian Radio and Television is the largest communication and information company in the country as well as one of the main broadcasters in Europe. Its origins date back to 1924 with the establishment of the Italian Radio Union, later transformed into EIAR and dissolved in 1944. Reopened in 1954 as Rai Italian Radio and Television, the company holds the exclusive public broadcasting service in Italy.
