Sanofi Italy and Malta are the Italian and Maltese branches of Sanofi, a French pharmaceutical group created in 2004 from the merger of Sanofi-Synthélabo and Aventis.

The Sanofi Group operates in more than 100 countries with over 100,000 employees. The company has subsidiaries on five continents and is one of the most important among the major pharmaceutical groups in the world, as well as the first in developing countries.

The company is present in Italy with its headquarters in Milan and offices in Modena and Rome. In Milan, there is also a clinical research unit that coordinates the entire Adriatic area. It also has four industrial plants in Italy, located in Origgio (VA), Anagni (FR), Scoppito (AQ), and Brindisi (BR).

Sanofi has developed the first treatments for many rare lysosomal storage diseases, as well as drugs for diabetes and cardiovascular diseases that today represent the standard of care.
