Since May 2023, CEO of FS Treni Turistici Italiani, Luigi Cantamessa was born in Trescore Balneario (BG) in 1977 and graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in Civil Engineering, specializing in “Transport”. In 2003, he obtained a Master's degree in Economics and Management of Transport at the SDA of Bocconi University in Milan. He joined Trenitalia while still studying and built his career within the FS Group. Since 2013, he has been the General Director of Fondazione FS Italiane. He is also a member of the Permanent Committee for the Promotion of Tourism in Italy of MiBACT and a member of the Steering Committee of Federturismo-Confindustria. A Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic since 2017, two years later Luigi Cantamessa was awarded the title of Commander.
