Nerio Alessandri, born in Cesena in 1961, trained as an industrial designer, founded Technogym in 1983. The first gym equipment, designed and built in his home garage, is the result of his enthusiasm for sports, his skills as a designer, and his passion for design. Today, Technogym is a world leader in the Fitness and Wellness solutions sector and has equipped 65,000 wellness centers and over 100,000 homes worldwide. In 2003, Nerio Alessandri created the Wellness Foundation, a non-profit organization that collaborates with institutions, schools, universities, research centers, and all public and private entities committed to improving people's quality of life. In 2001, Alessandri was awarded the title of “Cavaliere del Lavoro” by the President of the Republic, becoming the youngest Knight ever appointed in the history of the Republic.
