Prada

Prada is an Italian luxury holding company founded in 1913 in Milan by Mario Prada and his brother Martino Prada under the name Fratelli Prada. It specializes in leather bags, travel accessories, shoes, prêt-à-porter, perfumes, and other accessories. It is one of the most important luxury fashion brands in the world.

In 1971, Miuccia Prada, the granddaughter of Mario, took over the company and transformed Prada into a modern and trendy brand. In the 1980s, Miuccia Prada began a collaboration with Italian entrepreneur Patrizio Bertelli (who would later become her husband) to expand the company. In the following years, the brand opened new stores worldwide and launched new product lines, including Miu Miu, a line of young and experimental women's clothing. Since 1999, Prada has been the official sponsor of Luna Rossa, a sailing boat that has participated five times in the America's Cup. In 2011, the Prada Group went public on the financial markets.
