Born in Rome in 1963, Fabrizio Di Amato is the Founder, President, and majority shareholder of MAIRE, an industrial group specialized in the transformation of natural resources. He graduated in Political Science from the “La Sapienza” University of Rome and in Chemical Engineering honoris causa from the Polytechnic University of Milan. At just 19 years old, he started his own business and, thanks to several strategic acquisitions, quickly laid the foundations for the birth of the Group.
The expansion reached its peak between 2004 and 2005, with the acquisition first of Fiat Engineering and then of Tecnimont, operations that allowed the company to become a general contractor and enter the sectors of energy, civil infrastructure, and engineering for oil & gas and petrochemicals. In 2007, Marie Tecnimont was listed on the Stock Exchange and continued with acquisitions, first with Tecnimont Private, then with the Dutch Stamicarbon, and finally with the Italian Technip KTI (now Kinetics Technology). In 2018, the Group launched NextChem, a company dedicated to green chemistry technologies and energy transition.
In May 2016, for his commitment to the Group, Fabrizio Di Amato was awarded the honor of Knight of Labor by the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella. He is currently also a member of the Executive Board of the Central Group. From 2008 to 2015, he was President of Federprogetti and from 2009 to 2011, President of Animp. He is now a member of the General Council of Unindustria and the General Council of Assolombarda, as well as a member of the Executive Board of Assonime.
He is also the President of the Evolve Foundation, established in 2021 within the MAIRE Group and active in the recovery of engineering heritage and industrial culture related to the sector. In March 2023, he presented the industrial plan 2023-2032 of MAIRE – “Unbox the Future” – and, at the same time, the rebranding of the company.
