Born in Milan in 1948, Marco Tronchetti Provera graduated in 1971 in economics and commerce from the “Luigi Bocconi” University of Milan. After starting to collaborate in the family business activities in the 1970s, he joined Pirelli in 1986, taking over its operational leadership in 1992. Currently, in addition to his role as Executive Vice President and CEO of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti Provera holds the position of chairman of the board of directors of MTP&C, vice chairman of the board of directors of TPIH, and director of RCS MediaGroup. He is also honorary co-chairman for the Italian part of the Council for Relations between Italy and the United States and is part of the Italian Group of the Trilateral Commission. He is also co-chairman of the Italy – China Business Forum and sits on the board of Assonime, the advisory board of Assolombarda, and the general council of Confindustria. Finally, he is a board member of the “Luigi Bocconi” Commercial University.
