Biography

Married and with two children, Matteo Del Fante holds a degree in Political Economy from the “Luigi Bocconi” University in Milan. He began his career in the Research Department of JP Morgan in 1991 and, after several positions in the Milan and London offices, he became Managing Director in 1999. He worked at JP Morgan until 2003, and in 2004 he took on the role of Head of Finance and M&A at Cassa depositi e prestiti (CDP), responsible for public sector clients in the EMEA region. From June 2010 to May 2014, he was the General Director of CDP. He has been a member of the boards of directors of several companies in which the CDP Group has stakes, including STMicroelectronics and the European Fund for Energy Efficiency from 2011 to 2013. From May 2014 to April 2017, Matteo Del Fante was the CEO and General Director of Terna. From 2015 to April 2017, he served as Vice President of ENTSO-E, the European Association of Transmission System Operators. Since 2017, he has served as CEO and General Manager of the Poste Italiane Group. Under his leadership, the Group has achieved significant consolidation of operating results and strengthened its activities in postal, financial, insurance, and digital services over the past few years, with a focus on innovation and sustainable growth.
