Francesco Caltagirone Jr., born in Rome on October 29, 1968, began his career in the family business at age 21. After gaining experience in the construction industry, he joined Cementir in 1995 and became its Chairman the following year, leading its internationalization and transformation into a multinational group. Today, he is CEO and Chairman of Cementir Holding N.V., and holds senior positions in various Caltagirone Group companies and associated industrial and financial entities.
Cementir Holding, founded in 1947 as Cementerie del Tirreno, is an Italian multinational company operating in the construction materials sector (cement, concrete, and aggregates). Acquired by the Caltagirone Group in 1992, and listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (FTSE Italia Mid Cap and STAR) since 2001, it operates steadily in Scandinavia, Turkey, and other international markets.
