Biography

Born in Milan in 1956, Claudio Costamagna attended the Ecole Europeenne in Brussels, before returning to Italy and enrolling at the Luigi Bocconi Commercial University. In 1981, he graduated in business economics and began his professional career in the Financial Control area of Citibank S.A., before moving - in 1985 - to Montedison, where he held the position of Corporate Finance director for the holding company. In 1988, he joined Goldman Sachs, initially as head of Investment Banking Italy, and later became Head of Italy and Chairman of Goldman Sachs SIM. From 2012 until July 2015, he was Chairman of Salini-Impregilo. Claudio Costamagna is currently a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Compensation Committee of FTI Consulting Inc, a company listed on the NYSE, and of the International Advisory Council of the Luigi Bocconi Commercial University. From July 2015 to July 2018, he was Chairman of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. Over the years, Claudio Costamagna has also served as a board member of Luxottica, Bulgari, Gruppo Il Sole 24 Ore, Autogrill, and DeA Capital, all companies listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, and of Virgin Group Holding.
