Born in 1972, Michele Crisostomo is a lawyer specialized in assisting banks and insurance companies. Since 2009, he has been a founding partner at the law firm Riolo Calderaro Crisostomo and Associates in Milan. An expert in banking, insurance, and financial regulation, his portfolio includes Italian and foreign clients such as Generali, Mediobanca, Merrill Lynch, and JP Morgan. Crisostomo has also assisted Banca Mps, among others, and served as a board member of Ansaldo Sts, representing the partner Elliott, from January 2017 to October 2018. He has won the Capital Markets Professional of the Year award at the TopLegal Awards twice, in 2008 and 2010. From May 2020 to May 2023, he was the president of Enel.

Established as a public entity at the end of 1962, it was transformed into a joint-stock company in 1992 and in 1999, following the liberalization of the electricity market in Italy, it was listed on the stock exchange.
