Biography

Born in 1955 in Alexandria, Egypt, to a Maltese family. Louis Camilleri graduated in Economics and Business Management from HEC Lausanne. After working as a market analyst for the chemical conglomerate W. R. Grace and Company in Lausanne, Switzerland, he joined Philip Morris Europe in 1978. He held various positions in the cigarette business in Europe and the Middle East. In 1995, he was appointed president and CEO of Kraft Foods. In 1996, he was appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of Philip Morris. Louis Camilleri became CEO of Philip Morris in 2002. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Philip Morris International. In 2017, he became a member of the Board of Directors of Ferrari N.V. and Senior Non-Executive Director. In 2018, he was appointed the new CEO of the Italian automotive company, succeeding Sergio Marchionne.

In 2013 and 2014, the brand was recognized as the most influential in the world. Since September 1, 2021, the company, like the parent company Ferrari N.V., has been led by Benedetto Vigna as CEO.
