Born in Mantova in 1943, Roberto Colaninno has been the President and CEO of Piaggio & C. S.p.A., of IMMSI S.p.A. and of the Advisory Board of Piaggio Fast Forward. In 1981, after his experience at FIAMM, he founded Sogefi. In 1996 he took on the role of CEO of Olivetti and in 1999 launched the public offer for the acquisition of Telecom Italia. He became its President and CEO, as well as President of TIM. In 2002 he acquired IMMSI, which has controlled the Piaggio Group and Intermarine since 2003. In 2008 IMMSI was among the founding partners of CAI (Compagnia Aerea Italiana) for the acquisition of the airlines Alitalia and Airone. Roberto Colaninno has been President and Board Member of Alitalia and a member of the Board of Mediobanca, Capitalia and other financial institutions, as well as of the Executive Council and the Board of Confindustria. Among the honors received is that of "knight of labor" and an honorary degree in Economics and Commerce.
