Born in Vicenza in 1940. His career begins in 1961 when he, along with his father and uncle, founded Brembo during the post-war economic recovery. Alberto Bombassei starts working in the newly established company as the sales manager, later becoming its President. Since December 2021, he has been the Honorary President of the company. In 2003, he was awarded an honorary degree in Mechanical Engineering and in 2010 he was granted an honorary master's degree in Sports Business Strategies. In 2004, Alberto Bombassei was appointed Knight of Labor.
Brembo is an Italian company that is a leader in the development and production of braking systems for vehicles. Founded in 1961 in Sombreno, a district of Paladina, a few kilometers from Bergamo, as a small family workshop, the company quickly distinguished itself through collaborations with important clients including Pirelli, Alfa Romeo, Philco, Guzzi, and Ferrari. In the 1980s, it experienced a period of significant technological development, and in 1995 it was listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
The brakes of Brembo are standard equipment for cars such as Aston Martin, Porsche, Pagani, Lamborghini, and BMW M, as well as for other high-performance vehicles like Ford GT, Dodge Viper, and some special versions of the Jaguar XKR.
The company's headquarters is located in Stezzano; the company employs over 11,000 people, of which about 10% are engineers and product specialists working in research and development.
It has been listed on the Milan Stock Exchange since 1995 and is included in the FTSE Italia Mid Cap index.
