Andrea Ripa di Meana, graduated in Economics from the Faculty of Statistical and Demographic Sciences at the University of Rome La Sapienza, obtained a PhD in Economics from MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. From 2021 to March 2023, he was the Sole Administrator of GSE. He is a member of the Evaluation and Verification Unit for Public Investments at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. He was President, from 2013 to 2015, and General Director, from 2015 to 2018, of the Fund for Energy and Environmental Services (CSEA).
The Energy Services Manager (GSE) is an Italian joint-stock company established in 1999 (until 2005 known as "Manager of the National Transmission Network"), fully owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which is tasked with the promotion and development of renewable sources and energy efficiency.
The Company carries out its duties in accordance with the strategic and operational guidelines defined by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Regulatory Authority for Energy Networks and Environment and is subject to the control of the Court of Auditors.
GSE plays a central role in the economic incentivization of the use of renewable sources in Italy, as well as in promoting energy efficiency and the culture of sustainable energy use.
As of December 2022, the GSE group has a net worth of over 88 million Euros, a consolidated revenue of approximately 121 billion Euros, and a consolidated net profit of about 10.2 million Euros.
