Carlos Tavares, born in Portugal in 1958, graduated from the École Centrale de Paris. In his career, he held numerous positions in Renault Group between 1981 and 2004, before joining Nissan Group. Carlos Tavares was appointed Executive Vice President, Chairman of the Management Committee Americas, and President of Nissan North America in 2009, before being appointed Chief Operating Officer of Renault, a role he held until 2013. He was Chairman of the Management Board of Groupe PSA. In January 2021, he was appointed Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Stellantis, a role he held until December 2024. Carlos Tavares is also a member of the Board of Directors of Airbus Holding S.A. and the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
