Graduated in civil engineering in Padua, Paolo Simioni has gained significant experience in managing companies operating in the infrastructure and transport sectors, as well as in the commercial enhancement of mobility assets. At the beginning of his career, he developed solid experiences in the construction, industrial, and service sectors, holding positions of increasing responsibility up to General Management. Over the past 20 years, he has been the CEO of complex entities in the airport and railway sectors: the SAVE Group-Venice Airport S.p.A. and Centostazioni S.p.A. of the FSI Group. From August 2017 to June 2020, he served as President and General Manager of ATAC S.p.A., where he dealt with resolving the deep crisis the company was facing, achieving financial and economic balance and allowing for the repayment of debt through the Concordat Maneuver approved by the Bankruptcy Court. From May 2020 to May 2023, he was the CEO of ENAV.
ENAV (acronym for National Agency for Flight Assistance) is an Italian public company in the form of a joint-stock company, which operates as the exclusive provider of services for civil air navigation in the airspace under Italian jurisdiction. It provides air traffic control services, as well as flight information, aeronautical information, and meteorological observations and forecasts, limited to the issuance of meteorological bulletins related to airports and the airspace under its jurisdiction.
The company has its origins in the Autonomous Company for General Air Traffic Flight Assistance, established in 1981.
ENAV is controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (53.37% of the share capital) and is subject to the supervision of the National Agency for Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
It has been listed on the FTSE Italia Mid Cap index of the Milan Stock Exchange since July 2016.
