Silvia Merlo, born in Cuneo, holds a degree in Business Administration. She has been the President of Saipem from April 2021 to May 2024, and is the CEO of Merlo S.p.A. Metalworking Industry, also holding positions on the Boards of Directors of other companies belonging to the Merlo Group. She is a member of the Board of Directors, the Risk and Sustainability Control Committee, the Related Party Transactions Committee, and the Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Sanlorenzo S.p.A. She has also held positions as a board member and as a member of internal committees in several other companies including Leonardo S.p.A., BNL Banca Nazionale del Lavoro S.p.A., GEDI Gruppo Editoriale S.p.A., Erg S.p.A., and Banca CRS Cassa di Risparmio di Savigliano S.p.A. In 2014, she was awarded the “Golden Apple” as part of the “Women at High Altitude” award by the “Marisa Bellisario” Foundation for the entrepreneurship section, and in 2017 she received the “Amelia Earhart” award on the initiative of the Zonta Club.
