Born in Viterbo in 1965, Antonino Turicchi graduated in Economics and Commerce from the University La Sapienza in Rome and holds two master's degrees in International Economics and Finance and Foreign Trade. After working as an official and manager at the Ministry of Treasury, from 2002 to 2009 he was the General Director of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. Subsequently, from 2011 to 2016, he served as Country President for Italy at Alstom.
Since 2019, Antonino Turicchi has been the CEO of Fintecna and Chairman of the Board of Gardant Investor. Appointed Executive Chairman of ITA Airways in November 2022, he was reconfirmed in the position in July 2023, only to leave it in January 2025.
Founded in 2020, ITA Airways is the new Italian flagship airline, fully owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The company's stated goal is to create an innovative and sustainable carrier, a benchmark for quality connectivity to and from Italy. ITA Airways aims to promote international tourism and foreign trade, as well as strengthen integrated mobility within the country.
The operations of ITA Airways focus on the hubs of Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate, with the aim of becoming the reference airline for business and leisure travel. By 2025, the network of intercontinental flights will expand to bridge the connectivity gap of the country.
