Biography

Born in Milan in 1962, Gioia Ghezzi graduated in Theoretical Physics from the University of Milan. She later obtained a Master in Business Administration from the London Business School. From 1989 to 1995, she worked at IBM as a systems engineer. She then held various roles within Harcourt General - Academic Press until 2001, the year she began working for McKinsey & Co, where she undertook over 250 consulting assignments primarily in the insurance and healthcare sectors, eventually becoming a Partner. From 2012 to 2013, Gioia Ghezzi worked at Willis Group Holdings, and from 2013 to 2016, she was the CEO of International Group Risk Solutions at Zurich Insurance Group. With over 25 years of managerial and consulting experience, Gioia Ghezzi has been a Board Member of the Italian State Railways Group since May 29, 2014, and served as President of the Italian State Railways Group from November 27, 2015, to 2018. In April 2020, she assumed the role of President of ATM.
