Steven Zhang was born in Nanjing in 1991. The son of a Chinese entrepreneur, he moved to the United States at just 15 years old, where he attended the prestigious Mercersburg Academy. After earning a degree in Economics and Commerce from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, he began his professional career at Morgan Stanley and later at JP Morgan. Steven Zhang became the President of Suning International, the international division of Suning Holdings Group. In 2018, he was appointed president of Inter - succeeding Indonesian entrepreneur Erick Thohir and becoming the youngest person to hold this position in the club's history - a role he held until June 2024, when the team was sold to the Oaktree fund.
The Football Club Internazionale Milano, better known as Internazionale or more simply as Inter, is an Italian football club based in Milan.
Founded in 1908 (by a group of dissenting members of Milan), the club has always played in the top tier of the national championship and is the only one to have participated in all editions of Serie A, established in the 1929-30 season. The Inter boasts 35 national titles, making it the second most titled Italian club after Juventus. It is owned by the Chinese holding company Suning Holdings Group and its president is the Chinese entrepreneur Steven Zhang.
