Born in Rome in 1960, Roberto Sergio graduated in Political Science and Communication Sciences. An experienced telecommunications manager, he began his career in 1985 at Sogei. In 1997 he moved to Lottomatica, where he held positions of responsibility in communication and marketing, until becoming Deputy General Director in 2002.
In 2004, Roberto Sergio was called to Rai as Director of the New Media area, a position he held until 2007, when he became President of Rai Pubblicità. From 2012 to 2017 he was President of Rai Way. In 2017 he was appointed Director of Rai Radio, and from May 2023 he has been the CEO of Rai, and in October 2024 he will become the Corporate General Director of the same company. During these years he has also been a member of the Boards of Directors of several companies in the Rai group.
