Biography

Born in Hadera, Israel, in 1960, Amos Genish graduated in Economics and Accounting in Tel Aviv. He began his professional career in one of the leading accounting firms in Israel. In 1998, he moved to Brazil and founded the startup GVT (Global Village Telecom), which would become the leading Brazilian operator in the field of ultra-broadband in just a few years. In 1999, he became the CEO of GVT. In 2007, he led GVT's IPO on the Brazilian stock exchange. In 2009, he conducted the sale of the company to Vivendi. In 2014, he led the negotiations for the sale of GVT to Telefónica. Recently, from early 2017 to July 2017, Amos Genish was responsible for Chief Convergence Officer at Vivendi. In this role, he oversaw the convergence strategy between content, platforms, and distribution of the Group. In 2016, Amos Genish was recognized as the best CEO in Latin America in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications sector by Institutional Investor.
