Lapo Civiletti was born in Florence (Italy) on March 26, 1961. He graduated in Economics from Luigi Bocconi University in Milan. He began his professional career in 1986 at Johnson Wax, where he stayed until 1989, the year he joined Kraft Italia, taking on roles of increasing responsibility in Marketing. In 1994, Lapo Civiletti joined Mars Italia, where he held the positions of Marketing Director, Sales Director, and General Manager Italy. Starting in May 2004, he became part of Ferrero International, based in Luxembourg, where he served for 4 years as Global Marketing Manager for the Praline Category. In 2009, he was appointed Area Manager Eastern Europe, a responsibility that was expanded starting in 2011, the year in which his responsibility was extended to all Central and Northern European countries. From 2013 to 2017, he also represented the Ferrero Group on the Board of Directors of AIM (European Brands Association). Since September 1, 2017, Lapo Civiletti has held the position of CEO of the Ferrero Group.
Ferrero is an Italian multinational company based in Luxembourg specializing in confectionery products. It was founded by Giuseppe Ferrero along with his brother Pietro Ferrero and his wife Piera Cillario in 1946 in Alba (Cuneo).
Other Italian facilities are located in Pozzuolo Martesana, Balvano, and Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi. The group is structured through a series of international companies and subholdings all referring to Ferrero International SA, the group's general holding.
