Biography

Vito Cozzoli was the President and CEO of Sport e Salute S.p.A. from March 2020 to August 2023. He graduated in Law from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with Professor Leopoldo Elia and obtained the qualification to practice as a Supreme Court Lawyer, with registration in the Special List of Lawyers of the Chamber of Deputies at the Bar Association of Rome. Since 1988, he has been a Publicist Journalist. In 1991, he passed the public competition for Parliamentary Counselor of the general professional category of the Chamber of Deputies. Among the various positions held are those as Officer assigned to several Parliamentary Committees, Coordinator of the staff of the Secretary General, Ugo Zampetti, as well as Head of the Legal Department from 2006 to 2014. His career continued in the role of Chief of Staff for the Ministry of Economic Development in three Governments of different political colors (2014-2016) and Head of Security at the Chamber of Deputies (2016-2018). He also served as Chief of Staff for the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies (2018-2019) and for the Ministry of Economic Development (2018-2020). In March 2020, he began his role as President and CEO of Sport e Salute S.p.A., a position he held until August 2023. Vito Cozzoli has also been involved in university teaching since 1991: among his current positions, he is a Contract Professor of Public Law of Economics at LUISS in Rome and of public law at the Faculty of Economics of the Libera Università Mediterranea Jean Monnet in Bari, and he directs the Master's programs on business crisis at Luiss. He was previously a Contract Professor of Industrial Law (Master's Degree in Law, Link Campus University of Rome) and a lecturer at the School of Government of LUISS Guido Carli in Rome. In 2009 and 2010, he taught at The School of Law, Fordham University in New York and Law School, George Washington University in Washington D.C. Over the years, he has participated as a speaker in dozens of conferences in Italy and abroad, addressing topics such as business support policies, industrial crises, investments, startups, digitalization, finance for growth, smart cities, extraordinary administrations, energy efficiency, competition, investment policies, and more recently, the sports sector. He has published numerous volumes and dozens of essays on parliamentary law, privatizations, telecommunications, public services, independent administrative authorities, and business crises.
