Born in Rome in 1958, Claudio Machetti graduated in Statistical Sciences from the University La Sapienza. He began his professional career at Banco di Roma, where he specialized in equity, becoming Deputy Director responsible for the Financial Analysts Unit. In 1992, he moved to Ferrovie dello Stato, first as Head of the Financial Markets Unit and then becoming Head of the Operational Finance Function: during these years, he contributed to the establishment of Fercredit, a financial company of which he is CEO. In 2000, he joined Enel: here Claudio Machetti held several prominent positions, including Head of the Finance Area, Chairman of the two pension funds of the group Fondenel and Fopen, Financial Director of the group, and Board Member of subsidiaries such as Endesa, Terna, and Wind Telecomunicazioni. In 2009, he was chosen to lead the newly established Risk Management Department. In mid-2014, with the creation of the Global Trading Department, he took the helm, also directing the Enel Trade vehicle in the role of Operating Chairman. He is currently the Global Energy and Commodity Management Director and Chief Pricing Officer of the Enel Group, previously serving as Global Energy and Commodity Management Director (called Global Trading until March 2021).
