Biography

Umberto Lebruto is the President of FS Park and was until March 2025 the CEO of FS Sistemi Urbani.

Originally from Sant’Arcangelo Trimonte (BN), born in 1964, he graduated with honors in Civil Engineering from the University of Federico II in Naples in 1991. He began his professional career as a structural engineer at S.TE.AS. S.r.l., a design, construction, and project management company run by some professors from the University of Federico II.

In 1993, he joined Rete Ferroviaria Italiana S.p.A. (RFI), the company of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group that manages the national railway infrastructure. At RFI, he held various technical and operational roles in different sectors and regions, eventually becoming a Level I Manager in 2003. Between 2007 and 2018, he held the positions of Head of the Territorial Production Departments in Bologna and Milan, a role that involves coordinating maintenance and management activities of the local railway infrastructure, and Head of the Production Department, with responsibilities related to safety and regularity of railway traffic across the entire national network (about 9,000 trains per day), ordinary and extraordinary maintenance (about 2.5 billion euros per year accounted) of the national network (about 17,000 km of railway lines) and the 2,200 stations across the entire network.

In November 2018, he was appointed CEO of FS Sistemi Urbani S.r.l., since 2022 the leading company of the Urban Pole of the FS Group, with the aim of enhancing and redeveloping areas no longer functional to railway operations, integrating urban mobility with railway mobility (intermodality) and improving the livability, mobility, and attractiveness of urban areas. He has led numerous urban regeneration projects in various Italian cities, including Milan, Rome, Bologna, Florence, Naples, and Salerno. In June 2021, he also became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metropark S.p.A., a company controlled by FS Sistemi Urbani that manages the parking portfolio of the Group (now FS Park). Previously, he was also a Board Member of Grandi Stazioni Rail S.p.A., a company of the FS Group that manages the most important railway stations in Italy, and of Fondazione FS Italiane, a non-profit organization that promotes the historical and cultural heritage of Italian railways.

Umberto Lebruto completed his education with an MBA - Second Level Master at MIP Milano/Politecnico di Milano in 2013. Always committed to social issues, he is passionate about contemporary art, jazz, travel, and sports.
