After a long experience in the international finance sector, Marzio Perrelli entered the media and sports sector in 2018, when he was appointed Executive Vice President of Sky Italia, responsible for Sky Sport, including the Editorial and Production teams, as well as the Sports Rights Portfolio.
He studied at the Lycée Français Chateaubriand in Rome and earned a degree in Economics and Commerce from LUISS University in Rome. He was hired in 1993 by Goldman Sachs New York and participated in the training program for analysts in the Fixed Income, Commodities, and Currencies division of Goldman Sachs & Co., distinguishing himself as the only Italian selected among 120 associates. The following year, he joined Goldman Sachs International, working in the London office and dealing with a wide range of financial products and institutional clients in various European countries. The solid skills he acquired led him to the role of Head of the Italian Desk.
In 2001, Marzio Perrelli returned to Italy due to his appointment as CEO and Head of Global Markets for Goldman Sachs Milan, launching the bank's Italian operations and achieving significant results in the Italian government bonds sector and in the high yield and CLO markets. In 2004, he was appointed Head of Global Banking and Markets and CEO of HSBC Bank Plc Italy: over more than a decade, he played a key role in consolidating HSBC's leadership in Export Finance and in cross-border business between Europe, Asia, and South America.
Sky Italia, known as Sky, is an Italian pay television platform published by the same company. The company was founded in 2003 following the merger of Stream TV and TELE+ Digitale.
