Trenitalia

Trenitalia is a company 100% owned by Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and is the main Italian company for the management of passenger rail transport. Founded as Italiana Trasporti Ferroviari S.p.A., it became Trenitalia in May 2000. In 2021, it was put in charge of the "Passenger Division" of the FS Group.

The company, like the other operating companies of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane holding, can be classified as a public law entity.

Trenitalia manages more than 15,000 km of railway network and its workforce consists of over 80,000 employees.
