Tod's is a company specialized in the production of luxury footwear, clothing, and accessories with the brands Tod's, Hogan, Fay, and Roger Vivier; it has been controlled by the Della Valle family since its inception. Founded in the early 1900s by shoemaker Filippo Della Valle, the company initially developed in Sant'Elpidio a Mare, now in the province of Fermo, in the Marche region. At the end of the 1970s, the founder's grandson, Diego Della Valle, took over the leadership. In a few years, the brand established itself in the international market (particularly in the United States) and from a small family business, Tod's transformed into a luxury company in the footwear and leather goods sector. Its products are often created in conjunction with formal and informal contexts.
Since the 1990s, Tod's products have enjoyed increasing popularity among Hollywood stars, faces from the fashion world, and even personalities from the British royal family.
The company has been listed since 2000 on the FTSE Italia Mid Cap index of the Milan Stock Exchange. On April 9, 2021, Diego Della Valle announced the entry of designer and entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni into the company's Board of Directors. The announcement of the new appointment caused the stock price to rise by 24%.
